HANDICAP PARKING RULES AND REGULATIONS
WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE MY TICKET NUMBER?
Contact the Newark Municipal Court OR the State Motor Vehicle Commission.
WHAT DAYS AND TIMES DO YOU ENFORCE PARKING?
Generally, Newark Parking Authority enforces non-moving violations (parking rules), Monday-Saturday, 9am-6pm. UNLESS the signage on the street says 4:00 P.M. In that case, we stop enforcing at 4:00 P.M. However, depending on the area, parking can be enforced as early as 7:00 AM and continue up until 11:00 PM. The Authoriity does have "evening enforcement" rules.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I LOST MY TICKET?
The NPA does not maintain that information. You will have to contact the Newark Municipal Court directly to get that information. The numbers to call are 973-733-8546 OR 973-733-8116 OR 973-733-8117. The other way to find out your ticket information is the contact the State Motor Vehicle Commission at 609-292-7500; they can advise you of any tickets outstanding in your name. You can always go in person to the Municipal Court located at 31 Green Street, Newark, N.J. and obtain any and all information related to outstanding tickets.
DO YOU ACCEPT PAYMENTS FOR PARKING TICKETS?
NO. You can pay your ticket via our Pay Ticket web page or in person at City of Newark Municipal Court.
WHAT IS GREEN STREET GARAGE?
The Green Street Garage is a PUBLIC PARKING GARAGE. The rates are competitive with all of the surrounding surface lots but with the added protection of parking inside. The garage is accessible Monday through Sunday and available for event parking, monthly and daily parking. On-line reservations for the garage can be made through parking apps. If you would like to sign up for monthly parking, you have to visit the garage to fill out the application, pay the fee and pick up your access tag. We look forward to having you!
